Pastor

The Reverend Aaron Bruce Boerst

I love Jesus and my family.  I married the most beautiful woman inside and out in my wife Megan, right here at Bethlehem! We live in Wales and love hiking, kayaking, and long walks around our suburbs.  You may see me often on the boat fishing, or in the woods hunting, when I’m not following Packers or Brewers games, landscaping, or homebrewing.  Most importantly, I’m blessed to serve Jesus and His people at Bethlehem as your pastor!

I attended The University of Wisconsin-Madison for two years before transferring to Concordia University Wisconsin where I received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Pre-Seminary Studies/Theological Languages in 2009. Upon graduation from CUW, I began preparation for the Holy Ministry at  Concordia Seminary in Saint Louis, Missouri. From 2011 to 2012, I completed vicarage at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Warrensburg, Missouri before returning to Concordia Seminary when I received my Master of Divinity Degree and was ordained in 2013. Prior to being installed as Pastor of Bethlehem Lutheran Church here in Wales, I served as Associate Pastor of Peace Lutheran Church in New Berlin, WI and Pastor of Christ Lutheran Church in Lake Mills, WI

Jesus was born in a town called the “house of bread” (Bethlehem) and laid in a feeding trough (a manger) where livestock normally found their grain. Little surprise then that Jesus spoke of himself as “the bread who came down from heaven” (John 6:41) and a “grain of wheat falling into the earth.” (John 12: 24)

It is my prayer that the people of Bethlehem be fed and nourished by this house of bread here in Wales so that, Faithful to Jesus, we reach out to everyone in our spiritually starving community to be fed the life-giving bread of the Good News of Jesus Christ. Therefore, I am empowered by the words of Moses from Deuteronomy 8:3:

“Man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord.”    Rev Aaron boerst
